Forrest has been appointed to deliver a £10.8m extra care scheme for the ForViva Group.

The Withens, designed by JDA, is an extra care and dementia scheme to be built on open ground in Stockbridge Village, Knowsley. The scheme comprises a 64 unit extra care scheme, as well as 26 bungalows. It will also include a dementia lounge, multi-functional room and restaurant.

This facility will provide a lifeline for an increasing number of people and their families, bridging the gap between health, social care and housing services, allowing residents to enjoy a good quality of life for longer whilst living independently in their own home.

The scheme will start on site in September with completion earmarked for February 2019.

Ted Macdougal, Divisional Director at Forrest, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by ForViva to deliver this exciting project into the heart of the Stockbridge Village community. This will be a transformational investment by ForViva and we are pleased to have the opportunity to deliver these wonderfully designed new homes which will improve the lives of so many”.

Nigel Sedman, Director of Investment and Regeneration at ForViva said “We are proud to be bringing forward the first development in Stockbridge Village in nearly a decade, and delivering the kind of high quality supported housing that offers a scarce and much needed lifeline for vulnerable people living in the community who want to continue to live independent lives”.
